The Raggamuffin costume poignantly illustrates the overlooked segments of society. Queen of Soca, Alison Hinds, sought to advocate for those perceived as rebellious or unruly. Her iconic Soca hit “Ragamuffin” faced initial resistance but ultimately triumphed, marking her as the first woman in Barbadian history to win Road March in 1996. Our interpretation of Raggamuffin highlights this fierce and rebellious spirit through striking feather quills and dynamic VXE RED accents. We offer three bodywear options to celebrate all body types during Crop Over, skillfully pairing rich emerald and blue with vibrant red to reflect the intricate colour palette of our Songbirds.
